On a daily basis we seem to be navigating a continuum between overwhelm, burnout, surviving and at times thriving.
Thriving professionally is not just an inside job.
Although we each have responsibility for self-care and setting boundaries, it is impossible to ‘out-resilience’ a toxic workplace. We need to be operating in a healthy and psychologically safe workplace to thrive.
Being of service to others in our work, often in a system that doesn’t fund us adequately for best practice can mean that we end up over-functioning for our clients and our system and under-functioning for ourselves and our own wellbeing.
